Future dispatch opportunities

Tow and Roadside Dispatcher Career Interest

Call live Kansas City dispatch at 816-588-8888 for current availability.

No specific opening is advertised on this page.

Tommy's Road Rescue is not advertising a dispatcher vacancy on this page. It describes decisions a future dispatcher may need to handle: locating a customer, recognizing emergencies, qualifying the vehicle and scene, separating an inquiry from a confirmed assignment, communicating estimates, protecting information, and documenting changes.

Role responsibilities and decision points

01

Locate the customer precisely

Confirm the state, road or property, direction, exit or cross street, lane or shoulder, entrance, level, stall, gate, vehicle description, callback, and a safe static map pin.

02

Recognize emergency conditions

Escalate injury, active-lane danger, fire, smoke, hazardous fluid, violence, a child or pet in immediate danger, or another police, fire, or medical emergency to 911 and the responsible authority.

03

Qualify the request

Gather the vehicle, condition, keys, wheels, drivetrain, damage, requested work, access, lawful requester, destination, receiving status, timing, and special risks so the request can be matched to verified capability and availability.

04

Separate inquiry from assignment

State whether information is being gathered, an estimate is being discussed, availability is being checked, or a truck is actually assigned. An email, voicemail, web form, or unfinished call is not a confirmed dispatch.

05

Communicate price and changes

Explain the starting price or job-specific estimate, known inclusions, conditional factors, and material changes without inventing a mileage formula, payment method, coverage decision, arrival guarantee, or authorization.

06

Protect records and resolve concerns

Limit vehicle, location, custody, payment, and personal information to the related business purpose. Preserve accurate request records and route unresolved questions through the customer-resolution process.

What to prepare for a future opening

Communication examples

Summarize experience handling urgent calls, gathering structured facts, de-escalating stress, documenting changes, or coordinating mobile workers without overstating what was promised.

Location skills

Experience with maps, highway direction, exits, cross streets, property entrances, garages, static pins, and jurisdiction differences can be relevant.

Work availability

State realistic scheduling preferences. A real posting must identify whether the role is on-site or remote, its hours, on-call expectations, compensation, and employment classification.

Privacy awareness

Be prepared to discuss verifying a caller before disclosing vehicle custody or location and avoiding collection of unnecessary sensitive data.

Important limits

  • This page does not advertise a current dispatcher opening, remote-work arrangement, schedule, pay rate, benefits, guaranteed hours, or employment classification.
  • A dispatcher does not grant legal authority, property access, police control, destination acceptance, insurance coverage, credit, or reimbursement merely by taking a call.
  • A dispatcher must not promise a truck, arrival time, equipment type, price, payment method, service outcome, or complaint result until the responsible process confirms it.
  • Do not send Social Security numbers, bank details, medical records, driver-license images, background reports, tax records, or other unnecessary identity documents through the general-interest form.

Questions drivers ask

Is Tommy's currently hiring dispatchers?

No specific dispatcher opening is advertised here. A real position would require separate confirmation of duties, qualifications, schedule, compensation, and application steps.

Does submitting interest schedule an interview?

No. The form opens an email draft on the sender's device. Sending it records general interest only and does not create an application decision, interview, opening, or promise of follow-up.

Would a dispatcher quote a guaranteed arrival time?

No universal arrival time should be guaranteed. Traffic, weather, access, safety, equipment, and prior calls can change an estimate. A dispatcher should distinguish an estimate from a confirmed assignment.

What information should a dispatcher avoid collecting?

Information unrelated to the request or hiring step should not be collected. The career-interest form excludes Social Security numbers, bank details, medical records, license images, tax records, and background reports.
