SMS and Text Messaging Terms

Call live Kansas City dispatch at 816-588-8888 for current availability.

Read before relying on a digital request or policy summary.

Tommy's Road Rescue does not currently advertise a monitored text-dispatch number, provide a website SMS opt-in, send automated request confirmations, or operate a verified marketing-text program. Calling 816-588-8888 is the live dispatch channel. These terms describe the controls that must be in place before any future company text program is represented as active; they do not invite a customer to text the current number.

Policy terms and decision points

01

Specific and informed consent

A future opt-in should identify Tommy's Road Rescue, LLC, the phone number receiving messages, the purpose and expected categories of messages, whether automation is used, how to stop, how to get help, and where to read the privacy and messaging terms. Consent for one purpose should not be stretched to unrelated marketing.

02

No condition of purchase

Consent to receive marketing or automated text messages should not be required to purchase towing or roadside service. Customers must retain a practical voice-call alternative for live service and an accessible alternative when a digital channel creates a barrier.

03

Message and carrier conditions

A future program should disclose that message frequency can vary and that message or data rates may apply under the customer's mobile plan. Wireless carriers control delivery, delay, filtering, roaming, device compatibility, and service availability; a sent text is not proof the customer received it.

04

Revocation and STOP handling

A reasonable request to stop future automated or marketing texts should be honored through the applicable program and law. A future text program should recognize common commands such as STOP and provide a clear non-text alternative for revocation. A service or safety record may still be retained when lawfully necessary.

05

HELP and identity verification

A future HELP response should identify the company, explain the program, provide the live phone and privacy links, and avoid requesting unnecessary sensitive information. Vehicle location, custody, release, payment, account, and identity details may require a separate verified channel.

06

Emergency and security boundary

Text messaging is never a substitute for 911 and should not be used while driving. Tommy's will not ask by unsolicited text for a Social Security number, full payment-card or bank-account number, government-ID image, medical record, password, authentication code, or remote device access. Suspected impersonation should be verified by calling the published number directly.

Company controls

  • Keep text-dispatch, click-to-text, automated confirmation, and marketing-text calls to action off the site until the real number, monitoring, consent record, message flow, vendor, privacy, STOP, HELP, security, and support process are verified.
  • Do not treat a phone number typed into a tow request, account inquiry, or career-interest form as blanket consent for unrelated automated or marketing texts.
  • Identify the sender and purpose in a future message flow and provide a practical way to revoke consent or request help.
  • Do not promise immediate delivery, emergency monitoring, dispatch, arrival, appointment, refund, or service merely because a text is sent or received.
  • Minimize location, vehicle, identity, account, and payment information in text messages and move sensitive steps to a verified appropriate channel.
  • Preserve records needed to demonstrate the applicable opt-in, message, revocation, help, complaint, and suppression handling without retaining unrelated data indefinitely.

Important limits

  • These terms do not activate a text number, create consent, subscribe anyone, authorize marketing, or establish that any current message came from Tommy's.
  • Carrier and device systems can delay, duplicate, filter, truncate, misroute, or fail to deliver messages. A text is not a guaranteed dispatch, arrival, price, payment, cancellation, or emergency channel.
  • The applicable consent, revocation, recordkeeping, identification, quiet-hour, and content requirements can depend on the message, technology, relationship, jurisdiction, and current law.
  • Transactional or safety communications associated with an actual assignment may follow a different lawful basis and job record, but they still do not expand a customer's consent to unrelated marketing.

Questions drivers ask

Can I text 816-588-8888 for a tow?

No monitored text-dispatch channel is verified or advertised. Call 816-588-8888 for live dispatch. A text, even if delivered, does not assign a truck.

Does entering my callback number create SMS consent?

No. The current form opens an email draft and collects a callback number for the request. It does not include a website SMS opt-in or subscribe the number to automated or marketing texts.

How would I stop future automated messages?

A future verified program should explain STOP and another reasonable revocation channel. Because no active website SMS program is represented now, call or email through the published contact information if you receive a questionable message claiming to be Tommy's.

Will Tommy's request payment-card details by text?

No. Do not send full payment-card or bank-account numbers, passwords, authentication codes, government-ID images, Social Security numbers, or other confidential information by text. Verify payment instructions through live dispatch.
