Once your vehicle has been approved for release, Tommy's Road Rescue can provide customer-authorized pickup and transport from a Kansas City, Missouri impound lot.

Call first so dispatch can confirm the pickup details, vehicle condition, and destination.

When release is complete, getting the vehicle moved should be straightforward.

If the City has cleared your vehicle for release but you cannot safely or conveniently drive it away, call Tommy's Road Rescue. We will discuss the pickup window, vehicle condition, and where the vehicle needs to go before arranging customer-authorized transport.

How impound-lot pickup works

1. Complete the release process

Follow the City or facility's instructions for release approval, documentation, payment, and any applicable hold. The facility controls whether and when a vehicle may leave.

2. Call Tommy's Road Rescue

Tell dispatch what you know about the vehicle, release window, pickup location, and destination. Mention if the vehicle will not start, has a flat tire, or has visible damage.

3. Meet us after release approval

Once release is confirmed, dispatch will work with you on a customer-authorized pickup plan. Availability and the proper transport method are confirmed before service is scheduled.

Before you call

  • Make sure you understand the facility's release requirements and timing.
  • Have the vehicle's make, model, and condition ready to describe.
  • Know where the vehicle needs to be taken after pickup.
  • Let dispatch know about a no-start condition, flat tire, damage, or access concern.

What to expect

  • A direct conversation about the pickup details before service is arranged.
  • Customer-authorized transport—not an impound release or City service.
  • Clear confirmation from dispatch before you rely on a pickup plan.
  • A practical alternative when the vehicle should not be driven away.
