01Confirm who actually holds the vehicle
Provide the year, make, model, color, plate, VIN when available through an appropriate channel, tow date, pickup location, ordering person or agency, and current paperwork. A City, police, property, lender, insurer, auction, repair shop, dealer, or another towing company's vehicle is controlled by that custodian's process; Tommy's cannot release property it does not hold.
02Verify authority before disclosure or release
Vehicle location, custody, charges, keys, contents, condition, and release details may require reasonable proof of identity, ownership, valid security interest, insurer or agent authority, court or agency direction, power of attorney, or another lawful right. Sensitive documents should be inspected or transmitted through the confirmed appropriate channel rather than ordinary email when possible.
03Get the exact location and appointment
Storage locations remain nonpublic on the website. Live staff should provide the correct destination, entrance, parking, gate, appointment, contact, accessibility alternative, and items to bring. Current reference release windows are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., local time, but the vehicle-specific confirmation controls and a facility may be unavailable without advance coordination.
04Confirm charges and release conditions
Ask for the current towing, recovery, storage, administrative, after-hours, access, payment, identification, key, lien, agency, or other stated release requirements that apply to the vehicle. This page does not create a storage rate, payment method, waiver, possessory-lien result, or right to release; the actual tow type, authorization, jurisdiction, notice, invoice, agreement, and law control.
05Personal property, medication, keys, and condition
Ask the custodian for the process governing personal property, prescribed medication, plates, documents, keys, child seats, accessibility equipment, hazardous items, and insurer or lienholder inspection. Missouri abandoned-property law contains specific provisions for certain covered vehicles and personal property, but those provisions are not generalized here to every voluntary tow, Kansas vehicle, or other custodian.
06Release record and unresolved issues
The release record should identify the vehicle, person and authority, date and time, location, invoice and payment or arrangement, keys, property, condition, destination, transporter when applicable, and signatures or acknowledgments required for the situation. A dispute, agency hold, court matter, lien question, fraud concern, unsafe vehicle, or missing authority may delay release without deciding the ultimate legal rights.
