01Confirm a real experience
A testimonial should come from a person or authorized commercial representative with first-hand experience relevant to the service described. Tommy's should not create a customer identity, use AI to invent an experience, or attribute another company's work to Tommy's.
02Preserve the writer's meaning
Spelling, length, privacy, or clarity edits should not turn mixed or limited feedback into stronger praise. Material omissions, changed outcomes, and composite quotations should not misrepresent what the reviewer communicated.
03Document permission and attribution
Before publishing a name, company, title, vehicle, photograph, logo, or quotation, record what may be used, where it may appear, and whether the person has authority to speak for a commercial organization. Use a privacy-preserving attribution when appropriate.
04Disclose material connections
An employee, owner, family member, partner, vendor, compensated promoter, or person receiving something of value can have a relationship readers would consider important. That relationship should be clearly disclosed when the review or testimonial is used.
05Do not condition incentives on sentiment
Tommy's should not buy positive reviews, require a five-star rating, offer a benefit only for favorable language, threaten customers over honest negative feedback, or selectively invite only customers expected to praise the company.
06Maintain a correction path
The writer should be able to report misattribution, an inaccurate edit, a revoked media permission when applicable, or exposed private information. A dispute should be reviewed using the original submission, consent, job records, and publication history.
