01Call live dispatch immediately
Call 816-588-8888 as soon as the vehicle moves, another provider arrives, police take control, the destination changes, the problem resolves, or you no longer want the service. Do not wait for the original arrival estimate.
02Identify the exact request
Give the requester name and callback number, vehicle, pickup location, approximate request time, destination, and any job or authorization reference so dispatch does not cancel the wrong assignment.
03Explain what changed
Tell dispatch whether the vehicle was moved, repaired, released, taken by another provider, controlled by police, no longer accessible, or going to a different destination. New facts may require an updated job rather than cancellation.
04Confirm the assignment status
Ask whether the request was only an inquiry, was accepted, was assigned, is already in travel, has arrived, or has begun work. That status can affect what can be canceled and whether disclosed time, travel, or work charges apply.
05Ask for the cancellation outcome
Confirm that dispatch canceled the correct job, whether any amount is due, the reason for any charge, and whether another party such as an insurer, fleet manager, police agency, property controller, or destination must also be notified.
06Keep a simple record
Record the date and time, number called, dispatcher name when available, job reference, cancellation result, and any stated charge or follow-up. Preserve related emails, receipts, and authorizations.
